Duty Session 371: Slime Machine

Allynna put out a message for people to come join in on a dungeon, nothing to hard, but she also added a caveat... Bring your best glamors. Somthing asthetic to go over your normal adventuring wear, since of course, showing off your drip is half of being good at an mmo.

Having her menu open, Allynna is currently looking through her asthetic options, until she smiles at one that she likes, and had to farm the dye for. A tall Female version of Alucard from Symphony of the Night. Long black cape with a red inner lining, her silver hair down about her shoulders, a black silken shirt, leather pants with knee high riding boots, of course her huge razor shield on her right arm, and a blue rapier in her left hand. She also took liberties and added a pair of smoked sunglasses to the mix. "There we go..." She says with a smile.

    June is always up for a PUG and hey if the boss is there all the better. The small middle aged woman looks more like a librarian than a warrior, but she's dressed as she usually is, a scale mail bikini long fur cape, sandals and a lack of modesty. The woman smiles when she sees the vampire bun. "Ahh going for dark lord over vibes, nice look I guess... never been my jam really. I'm more for Red Sonja, baddass woman warrior in all ways. I mean I suppose I could see a certain appeal in a Galadriel or a Earendil and Elwing I suppose. Or even in a Feanor..." she pushes her knuckles against her temple. Her language shifting (though the translation continues just as it would for Japanese). "Junie, no one cares, who is going to care what you think of things they probably haven't bothered reading? No one, thats who Junie. No one cares about things they haven't bothered reading, so you don't need to geek at them about it." she says in Quenyan (Elvish).

    The woman continues to berate herself in Elvish quietly as she turns away knuckling at her temple.

    A voice echoes from seemingly nowhere, "She is the light that shines upon the darkened hearts of monsters..."

    Where is that coming from? Whomever it is, they continue, "She is the hope of all who despair at the lack of loot and XP."

    That voice... It sounds familiar, "She is the key to victory, leading all her follow her to the greatest of heights!"

    A pink blur suddenly rushes past Allynna, before coming to a stop next to her, "Magical Girl Zekken is on the scene!"

    It's Yuuki! And she is DEFINITELY not wearing her usual outfit. Forgoing her usual purple ensemble for a very pink one. Complete with flowers and a giant ribbon on her back. She holds up a V sign for Victory to Allynna and says, "Those slimes aren't going to know what hit them!"

    Merek will take the time to put on his equipment and get ready for the duty, wearing the dark attire with the twin blades with him, and nodding a bit to everyone while he walks along. "I really like the place, we can pick up slimes for Uta," he will note.

Allynna looks at Merek and frowns. "You were supposed to have a costume on, you know, use your asthetic tab in your invent.. oh here." She says as she reaches into her inventory space and takes out a jack-o-lantern hairpin and places it in his hair. "There, dropped from last year's halloween event." She says as she looks to the other two and nods. "Now, let's go kick some slime!"

Entering into The Fallen Rocks of the dungeon, the party will come across a place that looks plain, though there are a few pipes that seem to extend into the walls all throughout it. The only way forward looks like a fallen rock slide, and the only way out will be mining it out, whether by skill or magic. Though perhaps one might find an alternative route, if they were to look between the many fallen rocks.

"Rowdy little buggers arent they... well... looks like we will have to invite ourselves in now wont we?" She says as she begins to summon her earth magic.

    June shrugs looking at the rockslide "Well, could be worse really." she says and the small mousey looking woman in her barbarian finery rolls her shoulders and then draws out an Ofuda from a case on her hip. She slaps the prayer on her chest and the paper burns away in a sparkle of green magic before she starts lifting and tossing rocks heavier than she is with relative ease.

    Merek will look to the pin, then he smiles, "Thank you." What would he want to be, then he begins to check the inventory, and will take the time to put on what looks like, well. The man places on the gear with him and will look like he's a cat, the cat ears with the tail on, and nodding a bit. Then he's using that Earth Magic of his to begin taking rocks to bring them away from the path so they can make their way into the dungeon.

    Yuuki seems equally as disappointed about the lack of Merek costume, "Talk about a stick in the mud!" Pause... "What does that saying even mean?"

    Anyway. The group proceeds into the dungeon, finding their way towards a rather annoying rock slide. Yuuki gasps in fake surprise, "Is this already the end of Magical Girl Zekken? Stopped in her tracks before even reaching the dastardly realm of the slimes? Nonsense! Our heroine never gives up! She pushes forth, overcoming all odds and doing her best to-" This continues on for some time.

    In fact, Yuuki spends so much time narrating the party's current predicament that she actually forgets to actually do any searching for a way past.

Allynna blinks as she is about to cast her earth spell when merek changes his outfit into that of a neko-jin... and her spell flubs. "Damnit! Merek, why do you have to pick that one?" Well, back in fragment she did play a cat girl wavemaster, who dressed like a persian slam dancer. But anyway, ONWARD!

As the party walks to the next area away from the fallen rocks, they
are greeted with a scale that takes up the middle of the place. Old
pipes seem to be broken, that were once part of the machinery. Upon
investigation, it is clear that these scales are meant to be filled
with water to balance them, but with the old mechanism broken, they
will need to use their own physical ability to maneuver the dial that
opens the stone and metal door to the next area.

A mural decorates the walls, the writing worn to the point it can't be
made out, but it's clear that it is a dedication to the elements.

"That device there.. I think if we wet it up and then try and turn it, we could possibly open the way forward." Allynna says as she walks up to the device. "Let's try it out!"

    The way has been made clear, "Good work, team!" Not that Yuuki actually did anything to help. It's okay though, cause she'll help this time!

    Except... "Uhhh, don't have any magic for this..." Ironic, coming from the Magical Girl.

    But then Yuuki bursts out, "Oh no! Our heroine has had her powers taken from her by the evil slimes! Will she be forced to flee? Never!" Yuuki taps her chin for a moment, then ah has! She digs around in her inventory for a moment...

    ... And pulls out a water bottle! She proceeds to pour the contents into one of the scales.

    Merek will take the time to lift up both hands while he will use the Water Magic to begin filling the scales, taking the time to relax and nod a bit to the party, chuckling to Allynna. "I should tell people what all you wore," he notes. "Anyway. It's been a while since I came to this dungeon. I like it!"

    June shrugs a bit "He can pull off cute... but then he does stuff like try to call out way outleveled vampire chicks who want to stick lances through us." she says. "Then I have to risk my iron butt." ... isn't it usually buns of steel? She looks at the mechanism "That damaged bet it needs some knocking free first." she says and scuffs her sandaled foot once, twice, then she's an iron scaled miniminotaur, and she digs her hoof into the soil to charge the dail, slamming her iron horns and iron scaled shoulder into it to start it moving.

Allynna also kicks into the mechanism, oweing to her bun legs of adamantium... "I love being a bun..." She says with a smile and looks at June. "See now THAT'S a costume! Very nice, eleven out of ten!" She looks to Merek. "I wore a belly dancer's outfit, there I told them myself." She says with a very contrite nod as she walks throug hthe doors.

And it is after the scales that it becomes clear why this place was claimed to be filled with slimes. The ground is covered in oil slimes, the walls seem to be covered in the thick material, and it's difficult to tell what this place used to be. It's no secret to the party, if they want to make it beyond the next door, they will need to clear away the slimes or capture them.

The question is, can the party manage to corral the slimes, and take care of them at one time? Old scorch marks from a fire a long time ago mark indents along the floor that could be set alight if they were to gather the monsters there.

"Alrighty ladies and cat-boi... time to smash some slimes!" She says as she sheathes her rapier, because its just for show, and splits her shield into two peices, and revs it up, the blades on the outer edge spinning like a pair of chainsaws. "Dual Razor Hazard Cut!" She says as she leaps into the fray like the tank she is, spinning around and useing both of her shields.

    Merek looks to the slimes while he thinks about it, with a nod to Allynna. "Alright, well you're the one who said it," he will note, then he's beginning to use an explosion from the potion to begin lighting the slimes to a flame.

    "Now this is more like it!" It's about time they run into some slimes! Yuuki looks excited as she draws her sword. Very much not for show. She proceeds to rush forward towards a group of oil slimes!

    You know, the thing about oil... It's a really good lubricant!

    Yuuki's foot slips on a trail left behind a slime, causing the imp to falls backwards to the ground. She groans as she sits up, "Okay, that was a little annoying. But no matter!" She jumps to her feet and charges again!

    And slips again!

    Yuuki groans some more, "Getting slightly more annoying... But never give up!" Yuuki more carefully pushes herself to her feet. And charges again!

    After the third slip and fall, Yuuki just sits there with a grumpy expression.

    June smiles, sharp iron teeth that do NOT belong to a cow. "What costume?" she asks and green fog snorts from her nostrils. She shrugs her iron scaled shoulders and scuffs an iron hoof on the ground. "You know... I grew up in Las Vegas... grew up with American Football." she says and then charges in a standard lineman's charge, arms out to catch and scoop up slimes, her horns used to help keep them corralled as she shoves them into the burnt section ready for flaming.

    Merek does add along to June, "You know, I needed to give that woman my own thoughts about what all she was doing to my friend and people."

"Pudding Flambeyo!" Allynna says as she slams, slashes, and punts the slimes towards the fire of slime death. "Back in the day, this is where I;d hit them with my Arctic Blast,, Lava Drop, chain-lighting combo, but I don't do those anymore." She says with a smile as she looks to June. "Take it to the house!" She says in almost perfect English, even if it would have been translated, she had to learn english for her job, and some games didnt have propper japanese translation.

Once in the next room, it doesn't look like they are clear of slimes yet. A series of spinning windmill posts create a maze, many paths leading into a gathering of slimes that seem ready for the party. The only way to make it by this, is to either inspect the paths to find a way through, to decipher what the clues on the wall means, or to use an elemental air magic to begin changing it to the best path directly. It is clear that everyone will need to work together.

"A puzzle... Merek, you're up, figure this slime trap out and tell us how to get through it." She does give Merek abit of a hard time, but.. she knows that he is one of the smartest people she knows.

    June looks at the wall, pulls out a notepad and quill. The woman writes down the clues, does a bit of quick translation and transposition then draws a path. "Use your Air magic here." she says showing everyone the drawing. "No need to do things the hard way when they write the instructions by the door." she shrugs.

    "Who left the window open? It's blowing a gale out there!"

    In truth, it's a wind maze. Yuuki is definitely not the smartest one here. It might even be fair to say she's last in that regard. But that's okay, she didn't get to where she is today by smarts, but through sheer force of will!

    Besides, this is why she has June, "Thanks, Junie!"

    Still, it should be no surprise when Yuuki turns to using force to solves this puzzle, "Pfft, you think this light breeze is going to slow ME down?"

    Yuuki whips her sword out to the side, activating her sword arte. A dark wind forms around her sword, then rises up her arm to engulf her. Within moments, the speed demon imp is running through the maze. In some places, going AGAINST the air currents, fighting air with air!

    Merek will take the time to begin with wind magic, which he uses to assist with that puzzle, and nodding a little to the party while he walks along.

Allynna follows along with Mere, and almost screw up the wind maze, but decides that yeah, deffinately follow the others. Not use in getting trapped with the slimes and having to waste perfectly good stamina on an avoidable fight.

At the end of the dungeon, pipes move throughout the walls, and an old machine stands broken. The walls stand above the party as they may note ancient writing, but before they can really take the time to examine the place for any puzzle, from the machine there is a sound, and from that is a slime that slides out of one of the pipes. It begins hostile and comes for the party.

It might look like a simple enemy to fight, but it soon becomes clear that this is no ordinary slime. The first to interact with it in any way, will see it begin to change. Then what once was one slime becomes two. These two begin to grow into a white and black slime that grow into bigger versions of themselves. Afterwards, they grow hostile to the party. It becomes clear that they are two of a kind, any inspect would note that one has a weakness to light and another to dark. It is up to the party to use all their combat ability to clear the slime twins away and make it to the next door in the dungeon.

Allynna starts to sing, causing light to enimate from her as she directs her song to the Slime that is weak against light.

"~Sometimes darkness can show you the light."

"SANCTUARY!"

    June charges in, her breath puffing out in green clouds, however turning your enemies to stone and then crushing them under hoof works less well when petrified bits are more like fruit in a jello mould than frozen limbs that can be snapped by an iron punch.

    Merek will take the time to lift up a hand of his to draw a shield about, and will protect the party while they fight with that slime!

    Yuuki is a little winded by the end of her run... Heh heh, get it?

    Anyway.

    Yuuki takes a moment to catch her breath before moving on.

    Soon enough they come to the epic boss battle of the dungeon. And surprise surprise, it's a slime! Wait. That's not a surprise! That's the opposite of a surprise!

    Not that Yuuki is any less interested in the battle. It's pretty easy to tell just by looking at them that these twin slimes appear to have elements for light and dark. Allynna is already turning on the lights, so Yuuki figures she'll handle the dark.

    Yuuki raises her sword as she mirrors Allynna's words, saying, "And sometimes, not even the light can outdo the darkness." Her already dark blade turns completely black, darkness starting to spread out from it, causing it to grow in size. Soon enough the darkness is so intense that it seems to suck up the light around it.

    Yuuki proceeds to charge in and unleash the fury of her Void Blade against the light aligned slime.

Allynna takes not of Yuuki's dark magic and smirks... then she starts to sing louder, putting more omph into her voice, singing from her Diaphram, and pushing her poor Mana pool to it's breaking point.

The song causing her Sanctuary spell to become a blinding beacon of light, tearing the poor dark slime into nothingness as the rest of the group is overhealed from the spell's healing effects as well.

    "Once again the forces of good have triumphed over evil! But were the slimes really evil? Or is it perhaps the ones who programmed them that are the true evil?"

    Well, with the boss battle over and the loot acquired, Yuuki laughs, "This was fun! Thanks for organizing it." She gives a thumbs up to Allynna.

    June nods her head to Yuuki and produces... a stien of beer. That's June for you. She takes a long swallow. "Ahh..." she looks at Allynna "Why wait till you get to town to start drinking your profits away?" she asks defensively. She doesn't have a problem, beer has a problem... it's delicious and makes her brain slow down...

Allynna pants just abit.. usualy she can sing and put an opera diva to shame, but pair that with a magical spell like sanctuary, and you have a tired bun, but she thinks she got her point across, Bun War Chanter of light. "Beer, not bad, more of a Sake girl myself." She says producing a flask of the rice wine. "Besides, it's only a problem when you run out right?" She says with a wink as she puts her big bag of coins into her inventory. "I really should sort my inventory..."
