After the Palace Landers depart

Yeowang
Shibuya - Main Square

Yeowang, having waited for the Palace Landers to depart, will only then kneel down and retrieve her lucky coin and the paper her luck seems to have liberated. She will edge over to Shiruba, since Rizadoman is heading out, and share with her the discovery she's made. "They've come on a mission, it seems," she says.
Merek
Shibuya - Main Square

Merek will look to Yeowang, and nod a little bit, while he thinks about it, "What do you mean?" he asks.
Shiruba
Shibuya - Main Square

"Huh?" Shiruba glances at Yeowang a moment, then back through the Inn door to shout what's probably her order. Then walks back over to see, even if her nerves probably aren't in the best shape for more surprises...
Yeowang

Yeowang will show Shiruba and Merek the scrap of paper that her jostling of the imp knocked loose. It says: 'Do not alert them. Find the Uncrowned.' "They came here looking for something, it seems. It was not a social call after all."
Rizadoman
Shibuya - Main Square

Rizadoman walkks out of the Green dragon with a barrel of wine and is working to carry it over to the dock when he notices the others still standing around, " Did they come back? Did Kaydon decide on going to war? If you three are just standing around I could use a hand moving supplies for them. " Yes Rizadoman was looking to drat people into things and is oblivious to whats going on.

Yeowang eyes Rizadoman skeptically. "Those Palace Landers came searching secretly for someone or something. The Uncrowned, it's called, so it sounds like a person. They are under orders not to disclose that they are searching, so I waited until they were gone to alert you all." She will show him the paper she discovered. It says: 'Do not alert them. Find the Uncrowned.' "No idea what it means, but I would like to find this Uncrowned before they do. It seems prudent."
Merek
Shibuya - Main Square

Merek will look about the place, and nods along to Yeowang, "I think it will be important to learn what that means first. Might be worth looking into at Lumina Cloth. I think it's probably best we find people to watch the fleet," he will offer.
Shiruba
Shibuya - Main Square

Shiruba cups a hand to her chin. "Uncrowned sounds like it would be unknown royalty of some kind."
Rizadoman
Shibuya - Main Square

Rizadoman listens to the alliancemates and tilts his head at the paper. "Uncrowned ? " Taking a moment he consdiers it heavily before he shakes his head. " It could mean anything. Don't just assume about people. " Says the lizardman who was absolutely skeptical of all the groups up till now. " Sometimes it is for the best to stay out of other peoples business."
Yeowang

Yeowang nods to Merek. "Finding out what it means is vital. But. They must have searched their own lands about as hard as they could before sailing all the way over here, though. But watching their fleet does sound like a good plan." She nods to Shiruba, "Some kind of king-in-exile? Or a cadet branch of a royal line after their main line died out?" But that's all speculation. She shrugs to Rizadoman and says, "It's our business to be in other people's business."
Shiruba
Shibuya - Main Square

"All possibilities. Or it may not even be a person, like Merek said." Shiruba nods a few times. "We don't have enough information to not consider such options yet."
Merek
Shibuya - Main Square

Merek looks then to Riza, "There are war ships, and unannounced people in our waterways, I would think it is the business of the people," he will admit. Then a nod to Shiruba, "It might not be a person, that's true. Either way, learning is what I think about."
Rizadoman
Shibuya - Main Square

Rizadoman looks at Merek with a stern look, " When did we become the people? When did it become our nature to get in to other peoples business? When was it our right to judge others only by a slip of paper and a bit of rudeness? " The lizardman looks hard at Merek for a moment before he looks at the others. All he can see is adventurers looking for their magical duty item. " If you go out there and stop accusing them of things , then you will destroy all potential of diplomatic relationships. " That is directed at the group before looking Shiruba, " Or you three can tell me again that this is the right path and I will continue to move supplies for them to have for their voyage. " He just stands there as he waits to hear if they think he is ignoring the obvious.

Yeowang nods to Shiruba, "It's right, we don't. But somewhere, likely in Lumina Cloth as Merek says, is something that can tell us what it is. And maybe if we can find it for them, they'll stop sailing warships unexpectedly into our harbors. Either way, finding out gives us alternatives we didn't have before. But when we do find out what it is, then it will define the options that become available. is it an item of power? Is it an ally or someone who can help anyone they're allied with? Is it simply their heir, of no use to anyone but them? Or is it someone they're our to hurt? In that case we should help this person. Finding out, then, is only step one. But knowing what it is will tell us if we ought to bother looking, ourselves or just leave them to it. But it course be anything, with that sort of name."

She smirks at Rizadoman. "We're adventurers, it's our business to be in Landers' business all the time. Every newbie quest I did was getting into some Lander's business, helping them, hindering them, fighting for or against them. Getting into Landers' business -is- our business as players. Always has been. This is just a bit more proactive. Consider it a hidden quest, if that scans better for you?"

As far as the supplies go, she says, "Sure, assist them, by all means. We're not hostile. We're just curious what they're up to."
Merek
Shibuya - Main Square

Merek looks along to Rizadoman, and will think about it. "I'm not suggesting we go start a war. But we need to know what they are up to. You can offer the supplies, I would still like information. We are dealing with people that are showing off a navy to a less advanced population. We need to protect people. No nation in the history of the world became what they were and survived by just keeping to themselves and assuming everyone else is polite. Anyway, I need to do a few things. Apologies about that."
Shiruba
Shibuya - Main Square

Shiruba turns her attention for a moment back to the Inn as one of the servers comes out to bring her the drink she had ordered. "It's something to look into. If only so we better know what we might have to deal with in the future." She takes a drink, and sighs softly. She needed that to help settle her nerves.
Rizadoman
Shibuya - Main Square

Rizadoman listens to Merek and then the others, his stubbornness telling him to stand his ground on this and the comment at the end really grinds the poor lizards gear. Perhaps this is the rage that Giganpor feels at the Scale people. He picks up the cask and begins to walk it to the dock slowly , ever so slowly, each step taking a long breath and an audible 10 count. Finally he returns to the trio. " Do not let curiosity become a witch hunt. That is all I am saying. Just because they are here, just because they have ships, which by the way would probably make that sseven day trip of dealing with squid monsters, other monsters, and possible Leviathans much easier, doesn't mean they are here for nefarious reasons." That is all he can say on it.
Yeowang

Yeowang nods at what Merek says. "Famous saying, attributed to the Romans, translates as 'If you want peace, prepare for war.'" Part of her is amused that even if she'd tried to deliver it in latin, which is how she learned it, it'd get autotranslated anyhow. "An American president many years ago suggested the same thing, in the context of walking softly, but carrying a big stick. So, I certainly don't see /investigation/ as anything inappropriate. And depending on the result of the investigation, that will determine how we go forward."

She nods at what Shiruba says. "Exactly. Knowing what we might have to deal with in the future is important. Or what if the Uncrowned is a scion they're planning on killing so they don't claim a throne? I would certainly support picking up the person before they do. We could save their life. But no matter what, we have to know, in order to know what to do."

She blinks at Rizadoman when he returns with his objections. "Speaking of possibly dire outcomes does not mean we -want- dire outcomes. Only that we're ready for it if things do come out that way. If you want peace, prepare for war," she repeats. "Then you're ready, if it's needed, and if it's not needed, then no harm done."
Shiruba

"There's still too many things about this world that we don't understand to -not- be a bit more cautious than we have in the past. I'm tired of being blindsided by everything a new unexpected comes up." Shiruba gazes out the way the entourage from the Palace Lands left. "Even when they sometimes turn out not to be a threat..."
