The Way Home: Desperate Need

As the team is on their way back from the Palace Lands, they start running desperately low on food. Some of the food they'd brough has gone bad due to an invasive insect species having gotten into their supplies. Luckily, there is an island nearby where they can gather food by hunting beasts and gathering nuts and fruits.

This is a non-GMed event during which Liminality will be around for questions and scene prompts.

Rizadoman
Plot Room 1

Rizadoman was eagr to say the least to feel his feet actually touch solid land. It has been quite a long voyage , with much bloodshed and horrible fights, at least within the solace of the lizardman's mind. The voyage has taken it's toll though and the lack of supplies had made him, grumpier then usual. As he stands on the beach for a moment making fist with his talons (toes) he looks out at the wonderous opportunity for food. " We should splitup, no one go off alone. Try to find whatever is edible or just as importantly, some fresh drinking water. "
Merek
Plot Room 1

Merek walks along from the ship when they come upon the island and takes the time to pull the scarf which he wears along his face, then he nods a bit. The man walks along to look for water and anything he can collect while he takes the time to watch the place and takes the time to be with the party. The man waves along, "We should find water, aye!"
Shiruba
Plot Room 1

The repeat attempts at catching fish off the ship had not had any meaningful success. So when the island was spotted, and once confirmed not to be a mirage or such, it was a welcomed sight indeed. Hopefully they would be able to hunt some game, or find fruit to gather. Their stores were in a situation that they really couldn't be too picky, as long as it was edible. Otherwise they likely wouldn't make it back to Yamato in reasonable shape.

Shiruba stepped off the boat to the shore, one arm held out with her falcon perched on it. "Rizadmon is correct. We don't want to spread ourselves too thin, we don't know what level the life on this island is going to be. Or if we're closer to Yamato or the Palace Lands." Then turned her attention to her companion. "Shall we get a look at the place Windburn?" The raptor nods vagely, and then takes off from her arm into the air. Then Shiruba puts her focus on the small blue whistle in her hand, letting her attention shift a bit.

A moment later she can see much of the island from high above, from the falcon's point of view.

A literal bird's eye view.
Yeowang
Plot Room 1

Yeowang had been harpoon fishing from the ship's railing with more or less success, and though it wasn't close to enough to feed everyone, it at least put off starvation a bit longer. So when the lookout calls sight of land, she's quite pleased. She'll trade out the harpoon for a bow, and disembark with the others, taking a look around the place, judging terrain, and trying to guess what might be huntable, or even what level range the island is. Sadly, despite being a hunter, she's wildly new to gaming, and has no clear idea. She does nod at Rizadoman's injunction not to go off alone. "This may be a lowbie starting area since disregarded, or it may be a high-level secret area meant to be found by advanced players." More advanced than Seeker's Landing, she's implying. "Stay alert."

She will examine the ground immediately around us for tracks or signs of life, though, that's the first order of business.
Mikage
Plot Room 1

While the others may be focusing on the problem at hand, Mikage is basically sprawled, face-down, on the shoreline. It has been a well known fact that the Were Fang does not do well on boats, and with their limited supplies, she has been either suffering with sea-sickness or has been knocked out by one of Cyrus' potions much of the trip so-far. At the moment, she's just soaking in the fact that the ground isn't moving under her feet.

Rama, on the other hand, seems to be running around, glad to be able to stretch his legs and get some exercise. He actually sits right at Shiruba's feet, tail nub wiggling briefly.

"Shiruba... Rama can go with you. I'm officially dead. Ugh." Mikage murmurs from the sands. Apparently, she has no intention of moving at the moment.
Cyrus
Plot Room 1

Cyrus kneels down next to Mikage, was she is murmurring in the sands. "I figure this land would do both of us some good. It seems like we're getting pretty close by now." He remarks, but we really need some food. "And unfortunately, unlike you - I suck at hunting for things." He points out to Mikage. "So I'm going to see if I can find some herbs to deal with your nausea. I'll be right back." The Cait Sith points out, and heads deeper inland to search through some bushes.
Proteus
Plot Room 1

EARLIER...

"BUGS!" Comes a yell from the cargo hold of the ship. "ALL THESE DAMN BUGS!" An indignant yell, moments before there is the sound of various forms of magical obliteration. A cloaked Imp stalks out of the hold, her face twisted into a sharp scowl. "Ladies. Gentlemen. We have a problem."

NOW...

The Puzzle Imp looks over the beach with an irritated expression. "This isn't my kind of place." She mutters. "I'm no ranger or woodsman." There is a sigh. "Still, I can help locate things as best as I am able. If someone wishes me to accompany them, just say so." Proteus stands there, looking around with a grim expression on her face. It seems she's not exceptionally motivated to take the lead today.
Arashi
Plot Room 1

Not -too- far away from the bug slayer Imp is Arashi, a hungry were-fang that is trying to decide how best to deal with the situation at hand. On one hand, they were still keeping an eye on Proteus considering earlier events, but on the second hand they didn't want to be a helicopter of a guard. One thing she can agree with on, with Proteus, is hunting. "Depending on how things work here, we could either walk right up and slice them for what we need, or they'll take off running at the first sight of someone," Arashi muses, "So I know how you feel, Proteus." Hrm. Menu time. What do the old skils say?
Proteus
Plot Room 1

There is a sigh from the Imp and she glances over at the Were Fang that saved her life just recently when she made some... rather ill-advised attempts to help the escaping Adventurers. "I suppose one won't know until they try." The Imp says. "Shall we get started?" She asks Arashi, and flicks a hand inland on the island. "There should be /something/ we can eat around here." She indicates, and sweeps forward, trying to spread out from the others doing the same.
Shiruba
Plot Room 1

Still aware of her personal surroundings, Shiruba leans down to pat Rama lightly on the head. "Sure thing, Mikage. You stay here and recoup. Help her out Cyrus?" Which he already seems to be doing. Good, good.

For a moment she turns her attention fully back to the view from her falcon as Windburn circles overhead. "She might be on the trail of something. Circle is usually a sign a predator is honing in on something. Each circle is slightly smaller as they close in. Let's go, Rama." The Cait Sith huntress takes off farther inland, working to hone in on whatever her avian companion is seeking from above. Just need to be cautious since this is an unknown island, but unfamiliar locations haven't slowed her down before. What kind of explorer would she be if they did?
Arashi
Plot Room 1

Hrm. Shadow skills, Stealth, Arashi could manage. Proteus' call snaps her out of the menu, followed by closing it. "I'm sure we'll get.. something, yeah. May as well get in there and see what we can do." Eyes turn toward the inner island. "And while we're at it, I actually need to ask you about something else."
Miho
Plot Room 1

Miho was very unhappy about the issues with supplies, she was cursing spitting fire. Actually spitting fire at the bugs, when the island was spotted? She was calmed by the island. She's made landfall and she grins.

"I'll see what I can hunt down for food in a bit."

Her tail is swishing happily a whiplash level mood change but one for the better. She also joins Shiruba in the hunt making ready to see what they can find to eat.
Mikage
Plot Room 1

Mikage's hand lifts up and she makes an indistinct hand motion at Cyrus, groaning quietly rather than forming words into a response. When he suggests going off to look for herbs, though, she gives him a thumbs up, then flops back, face-down, onto the sand.

Rama follows along side Shiruba as the Cait Sith follows the bird above. The Lynx sniffs at the ground, darting ahead of her at times, obviously on the same trail. Now and again, he looks back to Shiruba, tail-nub still wiggling at high speeds.
Rizadoman
Plot Room 1

Rizadoman watches everyone pair off and then follows behind Cyrus, as was said earlier no one should go off all alone. "If you are seeking medicinal herbs it may lead to a source of water. " The lizardman is very careful to not walk ahead of Cyrus or risk crushing any plants and every few steps he sniffs the air trying to smell something other then saltwater.
Cyrus
Plot Room 1

Cyrus appreciates having Rizadoman following him along. "Maybe, though most herbs I am looking for tend to just grow in forest." He remarks. "Ground water and rain are remarkably useful for watering most things." He points out as he keeps diving into the depths of the island.

"So what's your first thing going to be, when you get back? I imagine you're not going to get a lot of rest, being a leader of a guild." He points out to Rizadoman as he spots a few herbs and moves to collect them. So far, it seems there are no monsters around. Though Rizadoman does pick up on the scent of water. Though not the salty kind.
Haru
Plot Room 1

Haru has been taking a different approach while on the boat ride as one taking care of morale. The events of the war landed on fertile minds for at least one and the artificer was there to do the simple things like listen. He carved little accessories out of wood for people to hold onto when they go through a panic attack and helped it design some theraputic alchemical oils to help.

It is no surprise that he is joining the landing party a bit late. Haru shifts his backpack as he treks out to catch up. Provisions are low and he doesn't consider himself well suited for hunting for food or water, but he is fully capable of picking up some native sea shells and look for alchemical ingrediants for the trip. With the busy hustle he offers a wave as people pair up and perform more focused tasks. Smile.
Yeowang
Plot Room 1

Yeowang looks around thoughtfully, eyes what the thinks might be game tracks, and will follow them toward the unexplored interior of the island. She moves cautiously, remaining on high alert as she creeps further along. She's on the trail of something, she seems sure, it's a promising trail, but as she's stalking what she's stalking, Arashi flushes some wild cluck-clucks from cover nearby. That's promising, but it doesn't look like she's capturing any of them, just running them around. Yeowang, luckily, has a net, and che hurls it across the largest concentration of the birds, and they flap all around, pinned down under the weighted edge of the net. Another one is stabbed with her slender hunting spear, and she will collect the birds up, and see what food drops may be had from them.
Merek
Plot Room 1

Merek looks along the ground and takes the time to track the plant life until he comes upon what looks like herbs that would work well for spices to assist in cooking food. He begins gathering all that into a pack. Then he's placing that upon the belt which he wears while he picks up a few things. The knight pulls a small flask of water while he places that into te noodles which he brought with him, to take a little bit of snacking to relax.
Kaydon
Plot Room 1

Kaydon has opted to stay on the ship while others go out and gather things. The ship, after all, is in desperate need of repair from the initial attack by the Palce Land warship, "I swear I'm going to invent a cannon. I don't know HOW I'm going to do it.." He mutters to himself, as he hammers a metal plate down over a hole in the ship. The marks on his arm are glowing red as he uses his relic to ensure the metal is able to be bent to his will. It's not the BEST patch job ever, but it'll hold until they can get home and someone who actually knows how to work on a ship like this can really get to work.
Shiruba
Plot Room 1

Shiruba shifts back to her own awareness as the effect of her Relic ends, but it was long enough for her to see around her falcon to know where to go. Rama also seems to have picked up on something. "Good boy."

There's a screech overhead, followed by the whoosh as Windburn goes into a dive, peregrine falcons having the fastest stoop of hunting birds. It can be heard colliding with something, but it's not until Rama and Shiruba catch up that they see what. Windburn with talons clamped on top of an exceptionally large crustacean, trying to find a spot in the exoskeletal shell to get her beak through while it thrashes at her, but it's big claws can't accurately reach over to it's own back so it's more flailing angerly.

"Coconut crab?" Shiruba takes a moment to consider her animal knowledge. "They actually eat fruits and stuff. Must be something on this island to sustain them." But right now she's more interested in it being a big crab, thus crab meat. If they can get through the shell. "Windburn, slam it! Try to get it on it's back."

The falcon responds by letting go and getting airborn, though her lift is limited by the crab's weight, before diving back down as fast as the short range allows to slam the creature into the ground and get it flipped over dazed.
Proteus
Plot Room 1

Proteus ducks into the brush and works with Arashi to help try to flush out some game. When they interrupt a batch of Cluck-Clucks and they go scattering everywhere, Proteus yells and gives chase, trying to bring some of them down. "What do you need from me? Besides the ability to shoot straight?" She asks Arashi as she brings up Paradox, the weapon already solving itself in her hand and folding out into that mechanical bow. She lines up some shots and tries to pin down a few of the escaping Clucks before they can find new hiding places.
Rizadoman
Plot Room 1

Rizadoman looks over at Cyrus as they walk having expected a more silent search so it is refreshing to hear Cyrus speak up. " The alliance leaders will be meeting up soon after, on top of that probably sending out small scout parties to the four corners of Yamato, trying to make sure they haven't already landed. As you said there will be a lot to do its hard to tell where..." He trails off as he continues to sniff the air and can smell water that seems to lack salt and even lets his tongue out for a moment to taste the air. " Fresh water." Crouching down he runs his hand through the dirt as if trying to magically search out where the water is. As he concentrates he does try to not be rude, "What about you? Do you plan to sit the fighting out?"
Mikage
Plot Room 1

A random Cluck-Cluck goes running right over Mikage, stepping on the girl's head and she barely even notices it. Not even so much as a finger twitch. There is only a grunt.

Rama, on the other hand, actually seems pretty good at obeying basic commands, so when Shiruba starts working with her bird, the cat makes sure to work together with them. When the crab gets flipped over, the little feline pounces, trying to dig his teeth into any exposed vulnerable places he can.
Arashi
Plot Room 1

Cluck-Clucks! Heck, Arashi didn't even realize they were there as she was stalking along, but as they rush out from under the brush, the dire-shire surges forward to try and at least get one or two of the birds, lashing out with a secondary blade rather than Starshadow.

In response to Proteus, however, "I found a couple of strange shards while looking for parts of my main sword, Starshadow." Once the clucks are dealt with, hit or miss, Arashi produces two of them. "These aren't part of it but I haven't seen anything like them before."
Cyrus
Plot Room 1

"Sounds like a lot of work." Something Cyrus is glad he doesn't need to do. He can lead a party or a raid, but this kind of thing is utterly beyond him. He's a pharmaceutical labrat. He can invent things, but he isn't good at marketing that stuff. As Rizadoman asks him about his plans, Cyrus notes; "My role is more suited to the backlines. I'll be the one bringing in all the potions you folk may end up needing, healing people who get hurt. You may see me in some battles with Mikage. But I'm not too fond of PvP honestly." He expresses to Rizadoman as he gathers the herbs carefully.
Shiruba
Plot Room 1

Despite being big and tough for a crustacean, the coconut crab is out-matched by the avian and feline teamwork. A even not at full speed the falcon dive is enough to flip the large crab over, giving it little to do other than flail around with it's multiple limbs. Shiruba steps in, bringing down the reinforced arm of her bow on one of it's arms to keep the big pincher down and away from the animals. That's plenty of opening for Rama to get in with a pounce and tear fangs into the less dense underbelly shell.

The crab flails a bit, then shatters into pixels and, thanks to being killed by two Hunter companions and their compiled abilities, drops of several good quality Crab Meat.

"Excellent work you two!" Shiruba picks up the meat and puts it into her inventory. "Let's get back to the ship before this goes bad."

It will be really nice if Fuka succeeds in her project and they can store meat and good longer. Put for now, they make do with the time they have.
Haru
Plot Room 1

The white-haired Artificer sticks close to the beach and the boat within eyesight as he goes along the shores. Haru collects up a bag full of seashells with consideration for color and iridescence. The occasional raw mineral is found, blue and chalky, to add into the mix. He keeps an eye out for more essential things like a water source or food while out, but returns with a small haul of uncommon island materials in the survival sense of things. He smiles on his way back and looks happy he found anything at all.

While not on the open seas, Haru looks over the boat through his monocle. A stream of statistics appears on his side of the lens, taking stock of object integrity across the major components like the hull and masts.
Rizadoman
Plot Room 1

Rizadoman nods his head slowly, " Yeah it will be a ton of work. I am not looking forward to it. I don't like fighting adventurers either, would rather a good raid or something, or even better a good book and a quiet day. " The lizardman takes a moment to try to remember the last time he had a quiet day. With a heavy sigh at that memory he refocuses his effort as he rubs his fingers together feeling the moistness in the earth he smiles as he gets a direction of the water. " The fresh water is this way, if you wouldn't mind hunting for your herbs in that direction. " Gesturing towards the smell of no salt water, " Having someone able to tell if the water is safe will be helpful." Stepping forward a little he makes his way carefully towards the source of fresh water.
Mikage
Plot Room 1

Rama is trained well enough in hunting that he jumps back as soon as the monster starts to pixelate. As much as he might be a greedy little thing in regards to treats, the Lynx doesn't just gobble up dropped items.

He sits back, nub-wiggling, looking quite proud of himself. He even gives a little trill to the bird before hoping back to Shiruba's side.

Then, seemingly distracted, the cat runs to one of the nearby bushes and snags a few flowers from it, holding them in his mouth. It's hard to tell /what/ in the world the Lynx is thinking, but apparently, he collects flowers now...
Kaydon
Plot Room 1

The work on the ship continues as Kaydon tries to situate things as best he can. He's served on an actual navy ship before, the US Navy at least. So he has a general idea of how things should be configured. Patching holes, re-arranging cargo to make the weight distribution better. Last thing they need is to get caught in a storm and capsize because stuff wasn't secured.
Cyrus
Plot Room 1

"Sure, I will be just right..." Cyrus is cut off as he spots the Lynx snagging some flowers nearby and grabbing them into his mouth. The youth gives the feline a most amused look, and then puts his baggy of herbs over Rama's neck and says; "Bring this to Miki, okay?" Before he follows Rizadoman to the clear waters. A simple small lake that has been partially covered by a half-open cavemound. It doesn't go very far deep in, no doubt just eroded over time. But there it is. Rizadoman has found his fresh water. And it gives Cyrus a chance to go looking for mushrooms and other fungus.
Yeowang
Plot Room 1

Yeowang, having captured and dispatched the small group of wild clucks and returned the meat drops to the cook onboard, will resume her quest for food. Heading back out, she resumes the trail of food, net and spear at the ready. She keeps her eyes open, alternately scanning the tracks on the ground and the wilds beyond for any sign of activity. Out past where she nabbed the clucks, she squints, then follows what seems to be another game trail.
Proteus
Plot Room 1

There is a moment of fleeting chaos as the pair attempt to bring down the Clucks to add some poultry to their meager diet, and they bring down a number of them to add to the stores. It's when Proteus is gathering the fallen fowl that she looks up to Arashi and blinks when she is asked about 'strange shards'. "You found what?"

She then is presented with the pair. Proteus's eyes widen below the brim of her hood and she slowly reaches up to take the shards from Arashi, keeping them carefully apart from each other as she rolls the strange things in her hands to look at them from alternate perspectives. "... I have seen things like these. Have you ever heard of the Enigma?" She asks. "There are people in Alne who are attempting to gather these pieces. They are... part of a greater mystery. Each shard bears the ability to release a power upon the World that is not within the normal reach of Adventurers. They seem to come in different styles that correspond to each type of power, contained within a shell. Each of these shells are... well, a puzzle. Providing a solution to the puzzle releases the power within. Both of these appear to be the same kind of power, but in very different magnitudes." She hands them back to Arashi, then. "However, they can also interact with others of the same type in unpredictable ways. Be cautious."
Shiruba
Plot Room 1

Shiruba tilts her head, watching Rama snatch up flowers. She's impressed that he does so without crushing them. She's no herbalist so she doesn't recognize them as anything but flowers though. "Mikage has you very well trained so I am going to assume you know what you're doing." Which certainly seems to be the case as he's found a stray Cyrus as well. Shiruba smiles. "Looks like you guys have had some good turnout as well," if the baggy is any indication. "Let's go, you too."

Having had a chance to rest Windburn takes wing once more, gliding ahead towards the ship. Shiruba makes sure Rama is following and not running off on his own before heading back as well. "Good news guys, we got crab meat!"
Miho
Plot Room 1

Miho has not had much luck in her own hunting but it could be a lot worse really when you get down to it. She'd managed to not well make a fool of herself she looks over to Rizadoman for a moment.

"Anything you need me to do?" She will also heed Proteus' warning for she does have such a thing herself, which she may fall into the trap of too good to use.

"If anything? I should see if I can get something to go with the crab..."
Arashi
Plot Room 1

That gets a hrm from Arashi. "Heh, figures, I need to find a few more, then? I'm going to be a shardseeker for a long time, it appears." She carefully tugs the pair of shards back and puts them away. Seperately, seeing as Proteus was so careful about it. "Though I suppose I should figure these two out? If there's a way to even do that."
Mikage
Plot Room 1

Rama allows Cyrus to take the flowers from him, giving a strange 'whuffle' type of sound in the process. They clearly aren't for Mikage, since she doesn't seem to be the flower-collecting sort.

He gives a little shake of his fur after the carry bag is put around his shoulders, then scratches at his neck, obviously not used to it. Yet, he understands 'take this to Mikage'. With a chuff, the cat bounds off.

Mikage is right where she was left. Rama tries to nudge at her, getting only a groan and a flailing of one hand before she rolls over, squinting up at the sky. "Not yet, Rama. Just ... give me a few more minutes of my stomach not feeling like it's been put through the tea-cups at Disney Sea."
Yeowang
Plot Room 1

Yeowang frowns as what she finds; where she expected to have nabbed a nice piece of game, is an empty hollow, still warm. Apparently the hunting activity closeby spooked whatever was in here. She doesn't have time to deal with failure, though, she simply looks around again to try and find another likely source of food drops. Heading off this way this time, she will try to maybe find another group of wild clucks. She has, so far, found no sign of more ferocious game on the island. Which is good.
Kaydon
Plot Room 1

Kaydon sticks his head up from one of the cargo hatches when he hears people starting to re-appear on the ship, "How'd you all fare?" He asks, as he looks up at the group, "Hopefully this thing will hold together for the rest of the trip." He sighs a little, "Damnit Jim, I'm a bladesmith not a shipwright."
Shiruba
Plot Room 1

A moment after that Shiruba leans into view over Mikage. "He has something for you." She points at the bag. "We met Cyrus on our way back, I think he sent you more medicine." She gives Rama a pat on the head. "He was very helpful hunting, thank you." She stands up, taking one of the last pieces of jerky from her inventory, and snapping it in half. One piece is given to Windburn, who flies up to perch on the ship railing and clutch it between talons so she can pick it apart with her beak.
The other piece is given to Rama as a thank you.

Then Shiruba heads up to the ship herself a moment, to pass along the Crab Meat to somene to take to the galley so people with actual Cooking skills can properly prep it.
Proteus
Plot Room 1

Proteus nods. "Don't solve the puzzle unless you are prepared to release the power. And under no circumstances should you attempt to combine two Shards of the same type without being prepared for the results. It almost resulted in my permanent death. That said, I am also seeking Enigma shards of a specific type. These are not it, but if you find any, I would be most interested in the source." She shrugs for a moment. "As I said, the pieces are puzzles in their own right. Some examination and experimentation should generally suffice for the lesser, and the principles should carry over to the more powerful, more complex pieces."
Rizadoman
Plot Room 1

Rizadoman sighs relief as he sees the source of water. stepping towards it carefully and reaches a hand he takes a handful and sips it from his hand slowly. " That taste amazing." With a much larger handful he enjoys the water before opening up his chimlink, "Cyrus and I found fresh water, we should make sure everyone fills up canteens and if we have any clean containers on the boat. " Another sip of the water as he just sits by the lake for the moment and now that he is off the chims says to anyone still around him, "I should have brought a book."
Arashi
Plot Room 1

Another thoughtful noise comes from Arashi, but then she realizes, they have clucks to deliver. "Well, I appreciate the help, Proteus. I'll let you know what comes of it. I .. had no idea such things even existed. I've seen people using some rather... unique abilities lately but I didn't know they were so far out of the normal skillset.." It took a moment for the Imp's previous, and current, words to sort of merge together and then be absorbed. New powers? Skills of a greater sort? ... This was right up her alley. "Oh, sure, if I find anymore, you'll know."

Back to the matter at hand. FOOD. Loot loot loot, and then back to the ship, all while still keeping an eye on Proteus. Arashi will see her back safely to Yamato, one way or another. "We found some clucks!" she announces to all.
Haru
Plot Room 1

Haru spends a good ten to twenty minutes pacing along the shore and staring at the boat like the answer is going to leap at him. With all the information he is looking at, he doesn't understand all of the terms. The sternpost is suffering from radial lag? The forecastle is in primed condition? He nods to himself with a serious look on his face. Not a sailor. Prime condition is a good thing, isn't it? Or did that relate to coating primers. Or weaponry? A finger runs along the silver monocle like the focus of a lens to check for weaknesses and finding none that didn't exist, finishes his trek back. "The ship looks in good condition," he tells Kaydon, assuming the Werefang is in charge of structural integrity. "Except these terms which don't mean much to me," as he goes through a list of about ten things his relic informed him of.

"Also, seashells," the artificer jingles his bag. Very important, the seashells, especially when they come in threes.
Kaydon
Plot Room 1

Making sure the ship doesn't sink is just as important as making sure that they have enough food and fresh water to make it the rest of the way back. It's a joint venture after all. No one role is going to be able to do everything on their own.

That's kind of how it's always been, though. No one can have the skills to do everything at the same time, especially now. He stops hammering on a panel to give Haru a look, "What are some of the terms? I might be able to shine some light on them."
Mikage
Plot Room 1

Raising a hand up, Mikage squints up at Shiruba, blinking before looking over at Rama and forcing herself to sit up. The Were Fang still looks a little paler than normal, but it seems to be subsiding.

Rama is scratching at the bag again, "Here, let me take that." She unties it from around the Lynx. "It'll likely have to wait until he gets back, too. I can't tell one herb from another." Still, she offers a small smile to Shiruba, "Glad he could be of help. More help than me right now, anyways."
Shiruba
Plot Room 1

"That's great Riza," Shiruba replies back over the chimlink. "Cyrus, your package via Kitty Express has been delivered." She pats Mikage on the shoulder before heading into the ship. "No, it's alright. You're not feeling well, it's safer you 'stand guard' here and rest."

Once inside Shiruba hands over the crab meat, and is heading back out at the same time Arashi is coming in with their own haul. "Wonderful! We've got plenty of meat covered then, I hunted down a large coconut crab, with help from my bird and Rama. They eat fruit, so there's probably still something out there. May send a couple of people to scout some more before we leave." She's one of the Guild Leaders here, she can delegate some of that... mostly because she wouldn't be able to tell if it's poisonous or not.
Yeowang
Plot Room 1

Yeowang explores a bit further afield in her search for game, or any sort of food drops. The island seems lush enough, there ought to be plenty, though most of her knowledge comes from half-remembered documentaries on Discovery channel and geography classes at school. -This- is first hand knowledge, and is almost certain to be remembered long after TV shows have been forgotten.
Haru
Plot Room 1

Haru happily reads off to Kaydon. He uses what he was informed with the crisp air of someone who is used to speaking to reporters. Clear words that he doesn't understand and a random chance that the message gets across. Fortunately the relic does not add 'I love lamp' into the prompted list. It becomes a series of terms like Trim Bending and Heeling Imbalance along with a location and a numerical response to the condition. At one point he uses the word 'Freeboard' in here. When the list finally ends, he tosses in, "Hope that helped."
Kaydon
Plot Room 1

Kaydon listens to Haru's description, and one can ALMOST see his eyes glaze over as he listens to the various stats, "Right. So you just reminded me why I joined the Marines instead of the Navy. Still, I think I understood enough of that to do a few more repairs. We should make it back to Yamato though. That much I'm sure about." Unless they get caught or attacked again though.
Haru
Plot Room 1

Haru gives a million dollar (coin? rubee? gil?) smile and a thumbs up, "Thats where I landed on it with the 'keep it simple' parts of the assessment. Condition versus Max Condition in simple number form. For being attacked it looks like the weakest point is beneath the water line so unless we get attacked from under the sea..." The well dressed young man considers that as his silver voice trails. It could happen. Eyes light up as he changes the topic, "Well I'm sure we will manage. We have brave and capable people on board and I certainly feel safe." Smile.

A hand raises to wave to Kaydon, "Going to go show the passengers how to make seashell necklaces. Y'know. Give them something occupy their thoughts and hands that isn't the firey mess of where we just left from." Said so happily. Smile!
Miho
